MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Age Division is based on age as of October 1, 2025

Membership in the MKYRA is from the Beginning of the Rodeo Season through Finals (October to September). Previous members must pay dues by the first rodeo of the new season for points to count towards overall season.

What you need to complete membership:

Membership Form

2 notarized, signed copies

Birth Certificate

1 copy

Grade Card (Sr. 14-19 yr Members)

If you are homeschooled: provide grades and a letter confirming homeschool enrollment from the Director of your program.

Dues

$75 as of the first of January of the current rodeo season.

For same household families with multiple memberships, any additional members after the initial will be $40/person.

A signed and notarized copy of our Liability Waiver is required for a contestant to participate in MKYRA events.

If you are unable to print the membership forms, or fill out online, please request a copy from the MKYRA Secretary. 

Memberships can be submitted, emailed, mailed, or given in person. 

Please remember membership dues are to be paid prior to the start of the rodeo in order for points to be recorded towards end of year scoreboard. 

Each year members will also be required to EITHER sell raffle tickets as a part of our fundraiser or get a sponsor for a minimum amount of $300.00.

Your money will be required to be turned in for the raffle tickets or money sponsor (total of $300) by July 1 of that rodeo year to qualify for finals.

MKYRA RULEBOOK

MKYRA has adopted the National High School Rodeo Association RuleBook as its first source of clarification if in any case the current MKYRA Rulebook does not clearly cover an event rule.

Any Person Directly Involved With Or Associated With MO-KAN IN Any Manner Who Is Found In Violation With Any Rule Printed Within The RuleBook May be Fined By the MKYRA Board Of Directors.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • After I fill out the form, then what?

If you’ve filled out the form online and paid membership dues, you’ll need to fill out the liability waiver and sign up for your first rodeo!

If you’ve filled out a paper copy, please bring it, your waiver, and all of the necessary documents to your first rodeo and turn it into to the Treasurer and Secretary.

  • If I exhibition for a couple rodeos and then decide I want to member up–will my points prior to membership count towards my overall standings?

No. Points are only added to the overall standings of a contestant from the membership date and on.

  • Where do I get my Membership number?

You will get a membership card with your membership number on it at your first rodeo.

  • How do I qualify for Finals?

To qualify for finals, you must attend 1/3 of the scheduled rodeos, have turned in your paid sponsorships, and work 1/3 of the rodeos. You don’t have to work the entire rodeo we ask that you sign up to run the gate for a event or two, help back pens, set poles, and/or barrels, etc.
